Visiting Fellowships Programme
The Department of Human Sciences and Education of the University of Milano Bicocca welcomes applications from both early-career (i.e., within 6 years of the award of a PhD) and established scholars from around the world for non-stipendiary visiting fellowships, to be held in 2026.
Visiting fellows will pursue research projects that fall within the remit of the Department, and they are requested to indicate the Faculty member they would like to work with.
During their fellowship period, visiting fellows will be provided with workspace, and they’ll have access to the Department’s facilities. they are expected to actively engage with the Department’s intellectual and social life, to take part in seminars and events related to their field of research, and they are requested to give at least a talk or a seminar on their research project.
The fellowships typically are for a period of 1 to 3 months (minimum stay required: 30 days, excluding travel), though longer visits may be arranged.
We welcome applications from scholars who already have their own funding in place, for the Department will not provide financial assistance; the fellowships will only contribute to cover travel expenses (return flight in economy class or train to/from Milan) and lodging expenses up to 3000 euro (Junior Fellowships) or 5000 euro (Senior Fellowships).
The fellowships can be taken up through April-December 2026. Please note that June, July and September are examinations months with no teaching activities, and that a summer break takes place throughout August.
